Asian Games 2018 are currently being held in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang. It is the first time that the Asian Games are being co-hosted in two cities. The opening ceremony was held on August 18 at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Jakarta.
Let’s have a look at how the countries are performing and where does India stands currently.
1- Currently, China tops the Asian Games Medal Tally with a total of 101 Medals which include 51 Gold, 34 Silver, and 16 Bronze.
2- Japan holds the second position with a total of 74 medals. It has won 20 gold medals, 25 silver and 29 bronze medals.
3- On number 3 is Republic of Korea with 59 medals in its kitty which comprises of 12 Gold, 20 Silver and 29 Bronze medals.
4- Iran comes next with 9 Gold Medals, 7 Silver, and 8 Bronze, making a total of 24.
5- The host country Indonesia is on 5 with 21 medals comprising of 7 Gold, 5 silver, and 9 bronze.
6- Thailand is on number 6 with 6 gold medals, 3 silver and 16 bronze, thus collecting 25 medals in total.
7- DPR Korea is at 7 with 11 medals. However, it is ahead of India because it has won more gold medals than India. Till now, DPR Korea has won 6 gold medals.
8- Uzbekistan is leading India with just 1 medal. It has won total 18 medals out of which 4 are Gold.
9- India is on Number 9 with 17 medals in total. Till now, it has won 4 gold medals, 4 silver and 9 bronze.
10- At number 10 is Chinese Taipie with 3 gold medals. However, it has won more medals than India with a count of 18.
11- Countries like Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Oman, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Syria, Korea, UAE, Yemen etc are currently on count zero as they haven’t won any medal till now.

1- Rahi Sarnobat won Gold in the 25m pistol competition .
2- Divya Kakran Won Bronze in 68kg Women’s Freestyle Wrestling
3- Sanjeev Rajput won Silver in 50m Rifle
4- 16 Year old Saurabh Chaudhary won Gold in the 10m Air Pistol event.
5- Abhishek Verma Bags Bronze in 10m Air Pistol Event
6- Wrestler Vinesh Phogat brings Gold and becomes the First Indian Woman Wrestler to Win Gold in Asiad.
7- 19-Year-Old Lakshay won Silver in Men’s Trap Shooting.
8- Bajrang Punia won Gold Medal in Wrestling.
9- 15 year old Shardul Vihan won Silver In Double Trap.
10- Deepak Kumar bagged Silver at Men’s 10m Rilfle.
11- Ravi Kumar and Apurvi Chandela bagged the bronze in the 10m Air Rifle mixed team event.
12- Ankita Raina won Bronze in Women’s Tennis.
