32 Yr Old Man Sucked By MRI Machine Due To Medical Negligence. Died In 2 Minutes

We keep hearing cases of medical negligence but this one’s MASSIVE. A resident of Lalbaug (Mumbai) died due to medical negligence of a famous hospital in Mumbai.
Well, he entered the MRI room with an oxygen cylinder in his hand and little did he know that he will be pulled in and die in next 2 minutes.

Rajesh Maru (32) had come to visit an ailing patient in BYL Nair Hospital Mumbai; he carried the oxygen cylinder for her in the MRI room so that she can get the scan done smoothly. He already had his doubts that metal objects are not allowed inside the MRI room. However, when he contacted the ward boy, he just said casually, “Sab chalta hai”.

The family of Rajesh says that the machine was on at the wrong time and also said that it was the wardboy’s fault that he give him false assurance of safety. Usually, jewelry, clothing, fibers, buttons, metallic zippers and other metal stuff is not allowed inside; so, how come this medical ward boy allowed him to carry an oxygen cylinder?
Harish Solanki, Rajesh’s relative said,
“When we told him that metallic things aren’t allowed inside an MRI room, he said ‘sab chalta hai, hamara roz ka kaam hai’ (it’s fine, we do it every day). He also said that the machine was switched off. The doctor as well as the technician didn’t say anything.”

Solanki further said that when Rajesh entered the room with the oxygen cylinder, the machine was on and the metal activated the magnetic field of the machine; in no time, the man as well as the cylinder was pulled in with force. Sources say, his hand got stuck in the machine with the cylinder and this led to an oxygen leak.
Rajesh screamed for help and was heavily bleeding; but by the time some other ward boys came and took him to emergency ward, he had died.
An FIR has been filed; Ward boy Vitthal Chavan, Dr Siddhant Shah and attendant Sunita Surve have been arrested for causing death due to negligence.
Dean Dr Ramesh Bharmal said that the matter is being probed and they will take action quickly.
He also said,
“He was accompanying a patient. He took the patient to the MRI room where metal is not allowed. He took the oxygen cylinder. The magnetic force was heavy so he got pulled in. There are boards and signs put up that say you cannot carry metal inside. Instructions are given. We are conducting an inquiry. If anyone is found to be at fault, action will be taken. It seems like an accident. All instructions were given”
Whatever happened was very sad; let us wait for investigation results to see whose fault it was.
