Picture yourself in a railway coach, travelling through a beautiful and picturesque ghat. An endless canopy of trees and waterfalls cutting through them. Obviously, your vision of this spectacle is limited by the size of the window, or even worse if you do not have a window seat.
What if you could have a panoramic view of the beauty regardless whether you have a window seat or not?
Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu flagged off a train coach with a sky roof that will run through Araku valley in Visakhapatnam. The specially-designed Vistadome coach is the first of its kind in India.
It is fully air conditioned and will give passengers unhindered visual access to the scenic beauty on the 128-km route from Visakhapatnam to Araku valley.
The extra-spacious passenger seats can recline fully and even rotate 360 degrees! The coach also has automatic sliding doors and multi-level luggage racks.
That means no haggling for luggage space and literally turning your seat around to get a view of absolutely anything. Check the awesome coach out –
1. The blinds can be drawn for the night too
2. Looks futuristic!
3. When the view gets boring, there’s always TV
Indian railways has introduced just one coach now as a trial basis. More coaches will be added in due time. Suresh Prabhu said that the coach is added to promote tourism.
And boy, will it promote!
