The first trailer of much-talked film Dhadak starring Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter was launched yesterday. Dhadak is the official remake of superhit Marathi film Sairat. While people are still in the hangover of Sairat, the Hindi remake seems to have failed in impressing the audience.
The film is being criticized for casting two-star kids in the film and promoting nepotism. Moreover, people are not happy that they have just followed the cliche storyline and have cut the caste politics angle. On the other hands, Sairat was widely praised for effectively showing the love story of a boy and a girl and how they became the victim of caste system. Dhadak gave an impression of the typical Rich girl-poor boy love story, and fans are not happy with it.
People are drawing comparisons between two films and have made hilarious memes out of it. Have a look:
However, the makers knew that this was coming. At the trailer launch of Dhadak, Karan Johar said, “When you adapt a film from a brilliant source material, you always know that no matter what you do and try, there will be comparisons. But all you can do is pay homage to that film.”
The film would mark as the acting debut of Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor and will release on July 20.
