Pranab Mukherjee to attend the annual event of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) in Nagpur

Pranab Mukherjee to attend the annual event of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) in Nagpur
The former president of India ‘Pranab Mukherjee’ is in headlines for accepting the invitation from Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Some of the Congress party members are happy with his decision whereas some are opposing him for the same. He will attend the RSS event in Nagpur today and will be staying in the governor house for two days.
Pranab Mukherjee is invited to address the valedictory function of the RSS’s third-year officers’ training camp. The event will take place at the headquarters in Reshimbagh on Thursday. When Pranab Mukherjee was the president of India he too invited RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat which the latter accepted. RSS keeps on inviting some well-known dignitaries for their annual events since it’s been a culture and this time its Pranab Mukherji.
A senior member of RSS said “There was nothing odd about Mukherjee accepting the invite, considering that he had called RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat to the Rashtrapati Bhavan during his tenure as president despite their ideological differences.”
About 700 swayamsewaks from all over India will be attending the Sangh Shiksha Varga (Sangh training class). After this news congress party members have started talking about it. Some of the party members are unhappy with Pranab who has represented Congress since the times of Indira Gandhi. They are opposing Pranab Mukherjee as he accepted the invite from a Hindu Nationalist organisation and that too a parent organisation of ‘Bhartiya Janta Party’.
Some also supported Pranab as they think its the need and demand of the hour to lessen the gap between the parties. Pranab Mukherjee served as the 13th president of India from 2012 to 2017. Having completed about 6 decades in politics he is one of the most senior leaders of Indian National Congress.
