India’s rising football player Sunil Chhetri played his 100th international match and won on Monday against Kenya in Intercontinental Cup at Mumbai. In the same match, Sunil broke the record of David Villa’s 59 goals by adding up two more goals and making it 61 for the Indian team.
Now, Sunil is behind Cristiano Ronaldo who is at 81 goals and Lionel Messi who is at 64 goals in terms of the International goals. We are not exaggerating or praising much but Sunil is being called as a better footballer than Ronaldo and Messi because of the goals he scored in international level.
Here is the chart where Sunil defeated Villa’s in the recent match and backed his position. Whereas, Ronaldo remains at first position and Messi at second.
Here is the comparison between Sunil Chettri, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in terms of Goals Scored in their International Career.
Sr. No. | Player | Team | Matches | Goals | Goals/Game |
1. | Sunil Chhetri | India | 100 | 61 | 0.61 |
2. | Cristiano Ronaldo | Portugal | 149 | 81 | 0.54 |
3. | Lionel Messi | Argentina | 124 | 64 | 0.52 |
By looking at the chart above, one can also say that Sunil Chhetri is performing better than Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi that is because the number of matches played by Sunil is less than the matches played by these star players.
The margin goals difference between Ronaldo and Sunil is quite much with Ronaldo on 81 and Sunil on 61.
With FIFA 2018 being around the corner, this gives a chance to Ronaldo and Messi to keep up their game. Both the star players are looking forward to taking off the cup home but this will also give a chance to the rising footballer Sunil to increases his goal tally and there are a lot of hopes attached with Sunil.
The Indian team is yet to play a few matches in the Hero International Cup in the upcoming days. Later this year, Indian team is also scheduled to play South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Suzuki Cup in September.
By looking at the schedule of these three players, it looks like the debate on the scoring at the international level is going to rise in time. Sunil Chhetri, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Lionel Messi are going to show their promising performances in the upcoming matches and this is not going to end soon.
