People Accused Karan Johar Of Nepotism & Slammed Him For Casting Janhvi. Here’s How Janhvi Reacted

Nepotism has always been one of the most controversial and debatable topics and while many people openly slam it on web and social media, it is still being practiced by various filmmakers in Bollywood. One moviemaker who constantly has to face wrath of netizens with regard to nepotism is undoubtedly Karan Johar.
Currently KJo is busy with “Dhadak” that stars Janhvi Kapoor, daughter of Boney Kapoor and late veteran actress Sridevi, and Ishan Khattar, Shahid Kapoor’s brother. It’s the remake of hit Marathi movie “Sairat” and people naturally have high expectations with “Dhadak”.
However, when the trailer got released few days ago, netizens slammed it and called it a poor remake. They even condemned Karan to launch starkids in the industry while some had objection with casting Janhvi in the movie.
Here are some tweets:

They mention

"From the makers of
Badrinath ki Dulhania
Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania"

at the beginning of the trailer of Dhadak.

Audience needs to understand the warning and not go for the movie. Someone at Dharma productions hates nepotism for sure.

I always felt Kangna was wrong when she accused @karanjohar of being the flag bearer of nepotism until I saw !

Everything looks lavish and polished , which takes away the realism of the movie ( High Budget Sairat ) 👎👎
Not even 0.000001% of Sairat , They ruined the Epic Movie 😑😑 - Nepotism sucks this time ( Janhvi needs improvement )
P.s - I'm not a Marathi

Nepotism aside did none of the Directors, Crew Members, Co-actors, HEK even the spot boys, BOTHERED TELLING JHANVI SHE CANT ACT 😂 ??? Why is it that the audience has to point out the obvious !?

Tbvh, @karanjohar you have ruined the movie sairat, as the taste of it is merely seen in this trailer, just to let you know that you have gone far beyond the boundaries of nepotism, anyway needs to learn a lot and @imIshaanKhatter you're way too fabulous.!

After much hue and cry, Janhvi has reacted to the debate in an interaction with Reuters. As per the actress, she understands that people are not happy or rather pissed off but she needs a chance to improve and prove herself.
In her words,
“I underestimated how angry people are. They are pissed off. But I can’t judge. I can understand where their frustration is coming from. It must be hard. I do feel cornered and bullied at times. Like, ‘why are you so angry?’ Maybe I suck, but give me a chance.”
She agrees that the country has more talented individuals who get disappointed to see a starkid grabbing an opportunity but at one fell swoop, the starkids also have pressure to prove that the filmmaker made the right choice by giving them a chance.
She said,
“I feel a responsibility towards them as well. I understand that you feel like you have been robbed of an opportunity that has been handed to me. I’m sure there are people who are more talented than me, and more good-looking than me – I promise you there are. But I am not going to pass on this opportunity just because… (trails off). It’s a big deal for me. Why the hell should I give it up?”
She finally said that she would need to work 10 times harder and show her caliber,
“The only thing I can do is value it and make the most of it. It is wrong and messed up if I take advantage of it, am complacent and think it is my birthright to be here. I know it is not. I know I need to earn people’s love. I know I need to work ten times harder because there is a stigma attached to how I’ve gotten this opportunity.”
Do you agree with Janhvi? Let us know your views in this connection.
