Sanjay Dutt’s biopic SANJU directed by Rajkumar Hirani starring Ranbir Kapoor broke all the records of being such a movie about one’s life which come once a lifetime.
We all have already heard a lot of things about Sanjay Dutt and after watching his biopic Sanju we all have come to know about Sanjay’s life ups and down that he faced. There might hardly be an actor who has such a lot of controversies in personal life as well as professional. Sanjay was a drug addict, had many failed relationships, lost his mother when his first movie Rocky was about to release and was accused as a traitor. But after the movie, people have seen those sides and phases of his life which anyone hardly know about him.
Now Ram Gopal Varma who made controversies with his comments is all set to make another biopic on Sanjay Dutt and the title will be Sanju: The Real Story. As many said, Raju’s SANJU as a case for whitewashing Dutt’s life. So Varma decided to work on Sanjay Dutt’s encounter with the AK-56 rifle by the 59-year-old actor’s life.
Mumbai Mirror a leading daily said, “Varma’s film will focus only on his possession of the AK-56 rifle by the 59-year-old actor’s life.” When the leading daily asked Varma about the same he said, “Yes, I am making the film”.
The leading daily further states: According to a source, Varma watched Raju’s SANJU and loved it for its emotional intensity but was disappointed that it dealt with the actor’s brush with the law in the backdrop of the 1993 blasts only peripherally. “That Dutt was doing drugs, was traumatized by his mother’s battle with cancer [she died just three days before the release of his first film Rocky], had multiple flings, many of them one-night stands, is all well documented”.
Varma has worked with Sanjay in two movies- DAUD and DEPARTMENT.
