With the ongoing trend of making biopics after Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju broke all the record of being an all-time blockbuster movie, many filmmakers are now concentrating on remarkable biopics that can be made.
Among all this, veteran actor Dharmendra talks about a possibility of a biopic being made based on his life to a leading daily.
Dharmendra says while triggering out at the Sanjay Dutt-biopic, Sanju, “I have always drunk a lot of alcohol, but I’ve never done anything that has been termed wrong or disgusting. So if a biopic is made on my life, nothing needs to be filtered. I have never shown any kind of infidelity or betrayal towards anyone in my life”
Hinting about his lady love and wife who is also a veteran actress Hema Malini without taking her name, Dharmendra said, “When I was in love, there was a lot of purity attached to it. I have nothing to hide in my life’s story”.
Dharmendra hasn’t given any thought to his biopic and said, “I have been told to write an autobiography. But I have stayed away from things that force me to showcase my achievements. It is not that I do not want a biopic to be made, but I don’t know when it will happen. I guess there is a right time for everything”.
Talking about his son Bobby Deol, Dharmendra said, “It is the result of everyone’s prayers that Bobby made a comeback”. Bobby made a comeback in Race 3 alongside Salman Khan went a blockbuster at the box office even after everyone from critics to audience backlashed the movie.
On the professional front, Dharmendra will soon be seen in Yamla Pagla Deewana: Phir Se. Previously two parts of the film have been released and the makers are all set with Yamla Pagla Deewana 3. The film is directed by Navaniat Singh under the production of Pen India Limit. The movie is slated for the release of 31 August.
