Sania Mirza is undoubtedly a great sportsperson who has made India proud many times. However, she had to face wrath and flak of people when she took the decision of getting married to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik considering the fact that India and Pakistan are arch-rivals. Ever since, she had to prove her love and loyalty for India quite a few times, especially when haters tried to troll her on social media by calling her a Pakistani.
We all know that Pakistan celebrates its Independence Day on August 14 while India celebrates it on August 15. Taking a jibe at the tennis star, a Twitter user lately asked Sania whether she celebrates Independence Day on August 14 after her wedding with Shoaib Malik:
Sania’s befitting reply to the troller shows that she is a proud Indian, “Jee nahi.. mera aur mere country ka Independence Day kal hai, aur mere husband aur unnki country ka aaj!! Hope your confusion is cleared !!Waise aapka kab hai?? Since you seem very confused ..” (Not at all.. My and my country’s Independence Day is tomorrow and my husband and his country will celebrate their Independence Day today. Hope your confusion is cleared!! By the way when are you celebrating your Independence Day?? Since you seem very confused..)
The tennis sensation knows how to value someone’s sentiments and she never let down either India or Pakistan.
Wishing her Pakistani fans and friends on the Independence Day, Sania tweeted, “Happy Independence Day to my Pakistani fans and friends !! best wishes and love from your Indian Bhabi ”
Her husband Shoaib Malik also wished Indians on our Independence Day and wrote, “Wishing Indians all over the globe (specially the one at home) a very #HappyIndepenceDayIndia ”
We must say that it was a nice and impressive way of wishing that touched Sania too as she responded, “Awe ”
Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik will welcome their first baby soon and we wish them luck for this new phase of parenthood.
