You never mess with Salman Khan at the theatres. And when it’s Eid, it is advisable to stay as far away as possible. This Eid, Salman will take over the box office with a suspense thriller Race 3… the third film in the hit franchise. With it, a Hollywood film Incredibles 2 had dared to clash on June 15. We knew the makers of the latter would reconsider their decision and they did. Taran Adarsh revealed that the second installment of the successful animation series will now hit the theatres on June 22 instead. This year Eid might fall on June 14 or June 15. Incredibles 2’s previous poster makes it clear that the film was supposed to release on June 15. Race 3 had booked the Eid spot long back, so there was a huge possibility that Salman Khan would take on the animated characters at the box office. We knew there will be changes here. Earlier Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom was supposed to clash with Race 3 as well. But later the film took the June 22 spot to be on the safer side and now it will release on June 8. Clearly, Hollywood is trying to place its movies on dates that won’t get affected by the Salman deluge at the box office due to Race 3.

Race 3 is the third installment in the hit franchise. In the first two movies, Saif Ali Khan has been a constant. But the third film went bigger with the inclusion of Salman Khan in the lead. Jacqueline Fernandez has been retained in the series but apart from her and Anil Kapoor, the cast is completely new. In fact, the director’s baton has been passed from Abbas Mustan to Remo D’Souza as well. So it will be like a completely new film in the series.
