There were rumors since long that this year, Gautam Gambhir will not be in the KKR team but will be in Delhi Daredevils. We thought it’s just a rumor, but in today’s IPL auction, it proved to be correct.
Gautam Gambhir was taken by Delhi Daredevils at a price of Rs 2.8 crores; He’s a wonderful player and we really wondered as to how KKR team left him. They could have taken him back easily with RTM card.
Social media was filled with rage; first due to Gambhir’s low price and secondly due to KKR ignoring him.
Finally, the reason behind Gautam not being a part of Kolkata Knight Riders is revealed and you too would be surprised to know it.
Well, KKR management had already decided to rope in Gambhir in their team but it was due to the cricketer itself that they didn’t bid for him. Gambhir had already told them not to bid for him or retain him through RTM card because he wanted to try some new avenues and challenges.
Since they didn’t want to come in between his aspirations, they let him go, although it was a 7 years association.
